Netflix is planning to create a documentary which will explore the life of Jimmy Savile and his relationships with celebrities and the royal family before his evil crimes were exposed after his death in 2011.
It has been reported that Netflix is in the process of making a Jimmy Savile documentary which will explore the life of the paedophile whose vile crimes weren’t exposed until his death.
The feature-length film will delve deep into the life of the shameful entertainer and how he managed to get away with his behaviour for so long, even though he was in the public eye.
This disturbing new documentary will follow the ten-part documentary on Madeleine McCann and upcoming doc on the Yorkshire Ripper.
According to a source of The Sun, Netflix is hoping that the documentary will be aired next year.
The insider told the publication: “It will consider some of his friendships with famous faces and the Royal Family, and how he got away with so much despite being in the public eye for so long.”
Following his death in 2011, aged 84, allegations became highly publicised of child abuse claims against the entertainer. It turned out there had been accusations dating back as far as 1963, yet they had somehow not come to light.
After his death, it emerged that Savile had sexually abused hundreds of victims, many of whom were children.
The police then stated that they believed he could be the most prolific paedophile in all of UK history.
Earlier this year, it was discovered that Netflix bosses decided to cut the disgraced entertainer out of the popular series The Crown which follows the story of the royal family, essentially rewriting history.
The bosses believed it would be ‘insensitive’ to feature the disgraced TV personality.
The episode in which someone was set to play Savile was a part of the upcoming fourth series that focuses on the 1984 Royal Variety Performance.
The source informed The Sun that the bosses feared that the sexual predator would cause offence and that he didn’t deserve a television appearance.
At the time, the source told the publication: “The creators felt it would be insensitive for such a sadistic predator to have even a second of airtime.”
