Boy, 15, Dies After Co-Worker’s ‘Prank’ Goes Horribly Wrong
A 15-year-old boy has died after he was subjected to a horrific ‘prank’ carried out by co-workers at a carpentry workshop.
The tragedy has shocked the community of Bozova, Turkey, and prompted a criminal investigation that is still unfolding.
The disturbing incident took place on Friday, November 14, at a local carpentry workshop where the victim, Muhammed Kendirci, was working as an apprentice.
Catastrophic injuries lead to teen’s death
According to local news outlet Milliyet, emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene after the act.
Muhammed was found with severe injuries and rushed to hospital, where he was admitted to intensive care.
The 15-year-old tragically died on the morning of November 19, five days after the incident occurred.
Relatives struggle to stand through grief
Following his death, Muhammed’s body was transferred for an autopsy before being returned to his grieving family.
The Kendirci family was devastated, with relatives struggling to stand through the grief.
Reports state that Muhammed’s father, Ahmet Kendirci, who has three children, was barely able to remain on his feet.
Muhammed’s body was laid to rest amid tears at Bozova Asri Cemetery.
Arrest made in connection with incident
One man, identified as journeyman worker Habip Aksoy, was detained in connection with the teenager’s death.
Although he was initially released on probation, the decision was appealed.
A warrant was subsequently issued for Aksoy’s arrest, and he was taken into custody again as the case continued.
His charges are not immediately clear.
Horrific details of ‘prank’ which led to Muhammed’s death
Allegedly, Muhammed was first restrained by Aksoy and an unidentified friend, who tied his hands.
The child’s pants were then forcibly removed, and a high-pressure compressor was used to force air into his a**s.
The event left Muhammed with serious internal organ damage.
What is a high-pressure air hose?
A high-pressure air hose is a robust, reinforced hose designed to handle compressed air at high pressures.
It is used to connect an air compressor to various tools and systems, including those for industrial applications, SCUBA diving, and air brake systems.
Unlike standard hoses, high-pressure hoses are constructed from multiple layers of high-strength materials, such as reinforced rubber and steel wire, to safely contain the high internal pressure and resist abrasion and oil.
Not an isolated incident
The high-pressure air hose – used for everything from auto repair to sanding and powering nail guns – has killed two other teenage boys in recent years.
In 2023, a similar fatal incident occurred in India when 16-year-old factory worker Motilal Sahu died after a co-worker inserted a compressed air hose into his r**tum ‘for fun.’
Sahu had been working at the Poona Flour and Foods processing plant in Hadapsar when Dheerajsingh Goud, 21, allegedly took the hose from his cleaning equipment and thrust it into the teenager’s a**s.
The high-pressure air caused catastrophic damage to Sahu’s bowels.
He collapsed on the factory floor and later died from internal injuries.
Another case was documented in 2017 in Brazil.
17-year-old car wash employee Wesner Moreira da Silva was assaulted by colleagues who inserted a high-pressure air hose into his r**tum, rupturing his intestines.
The severe internal trauma led to his death. Following an investigation, two men -Thiago Giovanni Demarco Sena and Willian Enrique Larrea – were found guilty of r**ing and murdering the boy and were sentenced to more than 12 years in prison.
These cases highlight a deeply disturbing pattern of workplace hazing rituals turning into lethal assaults when industrial air compressors are misused.
Investigations continue as community mourns
In Bozova, investigations into Muhammed Kendirci’s death are ongoing.
For now, the community mourns a teenager who went to work for experience, skills, and a sense of purpose, only to lose his life in a senseless and violent act.
