Disturbing Audio Of Ukrainian Refugee Stabbing Finally Released
Police have finally released disturbing audio from the stabbing of Ukrainian refugee, 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska.
Police in North Carolina have released numerous 911 calls made after 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska was fatally stabbed in the neck on the Charlotte light rail.
Six calls in total were made following the unprovoked attack, after witnesses reported that the victim was unresponsive on the floor of the train.
Zarutska was stabbed three times with a knife and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr., was charged with first-degree murder, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
He has not yet entered a plea to the charges.

“This man just f***ing stabbed this woman for no reason,” a panicked witness said in one of the calls released by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department on Wednesday (October 1).
He repeated: “Oh my god, he just f***ing stabbed her.”
On another call, one man said: “She lost a lot of blood.”
Another woman who rang the police department noted that people around her were attempting to put pressure on the stab wounds.
“There’s just a lady right now on the ground with a lot of blood,” the caller said. “People are just freaking out.”
Witnesses soon realized that their attempts had been unsuccessful, as one caller reported that Zarutska was unresponsive.
“There’s a lot of people around her, they’re all saying that she’s gone,” the caller said. “I think she’s gone.”
Other callers described the suspect to police, which eventually led to his arrest.
One caller reported: “He’s walking back and forth on the platform, he’s on the opposite platform.”

Zarutska boarded the train just after 9:45 p.m. on August 22.
A police detective told CNN: “The train traveled for approximately four-and-[a]-half minutes before the suspect pulled a knife from his pocket, pauses, then stood up, and struck at the victim three times.”
The suspect had schizophrenia, as well as an extensive criminal history, including robbery convictions dating back to 2011.
He previously spent six years in a North Carolina prison after convictions for robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Following his release in September 2020, he was arrested again in September 2022 for assault on a female.
In a statement, FBI Director Kash Patel said: “The brutal attack on Iryna Zarutska on the Charlotte Light Rail was a disgraceful act that should never happen in America.
“The FBI jumped to assist in this investigation immediately to ensure justice is served, and the perpetrator is never released from jail to kill again.”
