Donald Trump Issues Bombshell Update On When Americans Will Receive $2,000 Payment He Promised
Donald Trump has issued a bombshell update on the $2,000 cash payment that was promised to US citizens late last year, so when will people receive it?
Many of us have thought about what we’d do if we ever won the lottery.
Perhaps a luxury car, an exotic vacation, or a chance to finally buy time – maybe to pursue passions, or help loved ones.
But have you ever wondered what you would do with the $2,000 payment Trump promised Americans in November 2025?
It’s been exactly 66 days since Trump promised almost every American citizen $2000, yet there has been no sign of the money reaching their bank accounts – as of yet.
Americans have been left feeling frustrated by empty promises, after the President formerly stated that the check was to be given to all citizens, excluding ‘high income people.’
Everything Donald Trump has said about the $2,000 payment
Announcing his grand plan back in November on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “People that are against Tariffs are FOOLS!
“We are taking in trillions of dollars and will soon begin paying down our ENORMOUS DEBT, $37 Trillion.
“Record investment in the USA, plants and factories going up all over the place.
“A dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone.”
Many would expect that, after his initial statement, talk of dishing out tax-free cash would have gone quiet – but the opposite is actually true.
During a cabinet meeting on December 2, the President reiterated how successful his tariffs have been for America, and explained how people will benefit from it.
“Next year is projected to be the largest tax refund season ever,” he said.
“We’re going to be giving back refunds out of the tariffs, as we have taken in literally trillions of dollars.”
However, after a series of updates, Americans still appear to be $2,000 short of what they were promised.
So where is the payment?
Who will receive the $2,000 payment?
An additional source of confusion concerns who exactly hits the threshold for receiving the payment.
Following his initial announcement, Trump has since noted that the payment will be given to individuals of ‘moderate income.’
Clearing things up a little on November 10, the President added: “We’re going to issue a dividend to our middle income people and lower income people of about $2,000.
“And we’re going to use the remaining tariffs to lower our debt.”
Confusion also stemmed from a separate payment, the ‘warrior dividend,’ having also been promised by the President.
In fact, it’s already been paid.
The ‘warrior dividend’ was an initiative aimed at members of the US military, all of whom received a $1,776 check before Christmas.
Trump explained that they were, in part, funded by his tariffs.
But yet Americans of a ‘moderate income’ are still awaiting their check.
What is the latest update?
Yet when speaking to The New York Times, Trump issued a bombshell update on the alleged $2,000 check.
And given how vocal he’s been about the tariffs and the payout America may receive, his statement is pretty shocking.
When asked about the $2000 payment, the President responded: “I did do that?
“When did I do that?”
When pressed again, he added: “Well, I mean, your…
“Yeah, I’m thinking. Well, I did $1,776 for the military
“Well, I am going to – the tariff money is so substantial.
“That’s coming in, that I’ll be able to do $2,000 sometime.”
Speaking further about when exactly they might land, the President added: “I would say toward the end of the year.”
After such a long wait, the update will come as a deeply disappointing surprise to Americans.
