Donald Trump Posts Photo Amid Death Rumors – But There’s One Huge Problem With It
President Donald Trump attempted to quell mounting speculation about his health by sharing a photo, but the move has instead raised even more questions.
Concerns about the 79-year-old president’s well-being have intensified in recent days after he went several days without speaking publicly in front of cameras.
The speculation reached fever pitch over the holiday weekend when Trump remained largely absent from public view, an unusual pattern for a president who typically maintains a highly visible schedule.
The health rumors aren’t entirely baseless.
In July, the White House announced that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition affecting blood flow in the legs that his doctor described as ‘benign and common.’

Photos have also surfaced showing what appeared to be bruising on Trump’s hands and swelling in his legs, fueling further speculation about his physical condition.
The absence sparked a social media frenzy, with hashtags like ‘Trump Is Dead’ and ‘Where is Donald Trump’ trending when the White House schedule appeared blank on August 29.
Conspiracy theories ran wild online, with some users even dragging in old theories about The Simpsons cartoon ‘predictions,’ per the Economic Times.
Adding fuel to the fire were recent comments by Vice President JD Vance, who told USA Today that he was prepared to assume the presidency in the event of a ‘terrible tragedy.’
While Vance insisted Trump was in ‘incredibly good health’ with ‘incredible energy,’ his remarks about being ready to step up only heightened speculation.
As the rumors swirled, Trump’s social media activity became the center of attention, with supporters and critics alike searching for ‘proof’ that he was okay.

On Sunday, Trump broke his silence on Truth Social, writing in all caps: “NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE. Also, DC IS A CRIME FREE ZONE!”
But it was another post that caught the most attention and created the biggest controversy.
On August 31, Trump shared an image of himself on the golf course with former football coach Jon Gruden, writing: “Great playing Golf with Jon Gruden – A really nice guy, and true character!”
At first glance, the post appeared to be exactly what supporters were hoping for – recent proof that the president was active and healthy. S
ome Trump supporters celebrated the image as evidence that liberal concerns were unfounded.
“BREAKING: President Trump’s health is doing just fine. Liberals were wrong,” wrote one supporter.
Another added: “While Democrats swore Trump was having a medical emergency, he was out golfing with Jon Gruden! He’s at the TOP OF HIS GAME!”

However, social media users quickly discovered a significant problem with the post: the photo wasn’t recent at all. The round of golf with Gruden had actually taken place more than a week earlier, on August 23.
Retired U.S. Navy intelligence officer Travis Akers was among the first to point out the discrepancy on X (formerly Twitter): “I’m not a conspiracy theory guy, but if you’re fighting off increasing rumors that you may have suffered a major medical episode and to disprove that rumor and provide proof of life, you post a picture of allegedly playing golf with Jon Gruden today, it would be beneficial to post one that wasn’t from August 23rd.”
Akers continued: “Gruden’s Instagram and the AP archives confirm the picture President Trump posted is over a week old. Look at the matched clothing, and time and date stamps. Attention to detail.”
Political consultant Fred Wellman wrote: “This is insane. The President of the United States is obviously lying about his activities and the lack of curiosity by the media is stunning.”
Democratic operative Matt Rein questioned: “Is it not very bizarre to any reporter that Trump/The WH and their allies are trying to pass off a photo of Trump and Gruden as having been taken today, and not last week? Is anyone talking about this??? I feel like I’m going crazy!”

Despite the controversy, the White House and Trump’s medical team have maintained that the president is in good health.
Dr. Sean Barbabella, Trump’s physician, released a memo in July stating: “The president underwent a comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular studies. Bilateral lower extremity venous Doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”
The rumors cooled somewhat when Trump was photographed golfing in Virginia with his granddaughter, Kai Trump, on August 30, providing more recent visual evidence of his activities.
The incident with the week-old photo has only intensified scrutiny over Trump’s health and transparency.
Critics argue that using an old photo to suggest current activity raises questions about what the administration may be attempting to conceal.
Though Trump’s medical team continues to assert he is in good health, the White House is set to make an announcement tonight, further fueling speculation.
