Donald Trump has won the 2024 presidential election – but the internet is all saying the same thing.

After securing Pennsylvania, a vital swing state, the Republican leader addressed supporters at his campaign event in West Palm Beach.

Surrounded by cheers, he described his campaign as the ‘greatest’ political movement and thanked his supporters for re-electing him as the 45th and now 47th president.

Joined by JD Vance, Melania Trump, and his campaign team, Trump expressed his eagerness to ‘make America great again.’

“We have taken back control of the Senate,” he announced to a round of applause, adding: “Wow, that’s good.”

The crowd responded with chants of ‘USA, USA, USA’ as Trump called the election a ‘political victory.’

Looking forward, Trump promised what he termed a ‘golden age’ for the United States, stating: “This is a magnificent victory for the American people, that will allow us to make America great again.”

Trump, who won in 2016 but lost to Biden in 2020, focused his campaign on a promise to replace many federal workers with allies aligned with his MAGA movement, as well as pledging extensive tariffs on foreign nations and a large-scale deportation initiative.

As the election neared its conclusion, both candidates intensified their focus on Pennsylvania, a pivotal swing state, underscoring its role in the final push for victory.

Reflecting on his defeat in 2020, Trump had previously challenged that election’s results, leading to the events of January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol.

But following Trump’s pronouncement of his victory, the internet has come together with one prevailing sentiment.

While many US citizens are happy with their decision, it appears this viewpoint is not reflected by people around the globe.

The rest of the world is looking on at the US in horror – while also questioning how they came to this decision and feeling rather embarrassed on their behalf.

One person pens: “Other countries watching Americans struggle to choose between a competent woman and convicted felon.”

A second adds: “Waking up on another continent and seeing that Americans really voted for Donald Trump to be president AGAIN!!! like, are you guys THAT opposed to having a female president??”

“Congratulations America. Now the rest of the world has to laugh at you for another 4 years,” agrees a third.

“What is wrong with America,” a fourth commenter writes.

A fifth opines: “I don’t want to hear anyone complain about anything for the next 4 years. You are about to get what you deserve.”

While a sixth writes: “He might be the worst presidential candidate in USA history and it says a lot about the American citizens that he got as many votes as he did.”

“As a British person, how are Americans struggling between picking a well-educated woman or a convicted felon who’s going to make everyone’s lives awful,” concurs another.

Another social media user concludes: “Non-Americans are watching the US struggle to choose between electing a professional career politician or a racist serial s*x offender with 34 felony charges and the IQ of a spoon.”
