Kensington Palace has issued yet another statement about Kate Middleton, after she made a surprising public appearance just yesterday (September 8).

The Princess of Wales joined her husband, Prince William, yesterday to mark three years following the death of the Queen – an event which she was not scheduled to attend.

The palace issued the statement just hours prior to the event, which was seemingly impromptu for the mom-of-three.

It came as a surprise to royal fans, who were told earlier in the year that Middleton would be prioritizing her recovery from cancer in 2025 over participating in a range of public engagements.

It comes as Prince Harry made his return to the UK yesterday, for the WellChild Awards, of which he has been a patron for some years.

It is not yet known whether he will meet up with any of his estranged family members during his fleeting visit.

The King, who is currently at Balmoral, and the Queen have no public engagements planned for this week.

Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, after rumors circulated on social media about her disappearance from public life.

In a clip revealing the devastating news, Middleton said: “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful.

“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.

“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

And today, Kensington Palace have released yet another update on the princess.

The palace noted that Kate will tour of Silk Mills in Sudbury, Suffolk, on September 11, followed by a trip to Marina Mill in Cuxton, Kent.

In a statement, they said: “Her Royal Highness’s visit will highlight the rich heritage of the British textile industry and celebrate the joy found in working in the creative industries.”

It also noted that Middleton has ‘long been passionate about the importance of the British textiles industry and its role as part of the UK’s cultural and creative voice.’

The two visits will take place on the final day of Prince Harry’s return to the UK.

Prince Harry and King Charles last met face-to-face more than a year and a half ago when he immediately got on a flight to see his father in February 2024, having heard about his cancer diagnosis.

But they spent just half an hour together before the King left to go to Sandringham.
