Major Outage Sees ‘Half Of The Internet’ Crash
A major internet outage has seen ‘half of the internet’ crash as people begin to freak out.
It’s seen hundreds of huge websites, including Amazon, Snapchat, Zoom, Ring, and more, shut down.
Banks including Halifax, Lloyds and the Bank of Scotland are also experiencing problems, as users report not having access.
People have rushed to social media to question whether it’s just them experiencing the strange outage.
One persons says: “Holy s*** the whole f***ing internet is down.”
Another adds: “Yes it’s not just you. Large parts of the internet are down.”
“Of all the things I could’ve expected today I was NOT expecting the whole internet to go down,” somebody else comments.

The problems appear to be caused by an issue with Amazon Web Services, Amazon’s cloud system that enables users to utilize rented servers instead of purchasing their own computers or data centers.
Amazon’s service status page has shared two statements titled ‘Increased Error Rates and Latencies.’
The first states: “We are investigating increased error rates and latencies for multiple AWS services in the US-EAST-1 Region.
“We will provide another update in the next 30-45 minutes.”
The second adds: “We can confirm increased error rates and latencies for multiple AWS Services in the US-EAST-1 Region.
“This issue may also be affecting Case Creation through the AWS Support Center or the Support API.
“We are actively engaged and working to both mitigate the issue and understand root cause.”

While platforms including Snapchat, HMRC, and Roblox are experiencing issues, it’s important to note that not all websites and apps are having problems.
Google services, for instance, which run on the company’s own cloud computing platform, appear to be operating as usual.
Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, which experienced their own blackout in 2021, also seem to be running as normal.
The issues began around 8 a.m. in the UK, or midnight Pacific time.
The list of websites and apps affected include Snapchat, Zoom, Roblox, Clash Royale, My Fitness Pal, Life360, Clash of Clans, Fortnite, Canva, Wordle, Signal, Coinbase, Duolingo, Slack, Smartsheet, PokemonGo, Epic Games, PlayStation Network, Peloton, and more.
