Haunting Final Posts Of Mom Who Died Alongside Her Two Children At Niagara Falls
A mom who fell to her death in Niagara Falls shared a haunting final post.
Warning: the following contains a discussion of s**cide.
In a tragic incident at Niagara Falls, Chianti Means, a 33-year-old mother from New York, lost her life along with her two young children after reportedly stepping over the safety rail at the Luna Island overlook.
According to police, Means’ actions appeared intentional, but authorities noted there was no indication of external foul play or involvement by the children’s father in the tragedy.
This case has drawn attention to Means’ recent social media posts, where she expressed deep emotional struggles tied to the breakdown of her relationship.
And now, Means’ haunting final posts have surfaced.
As authorities investigated the tragic event, they were able to confirm that Means’ actions were intentional, although the full motivations behind her decision remain under investigation, as reported by the New York Post.
On Wednesday, state troopers confirmed: “The investigation has determined that this incident was intentional in nature.”
They are still examining additional details of the case.
Search and rescue teams from New York State Park Police and State Police conducted extensive efforts to recover the three bodies, though initial attempts were unsuccessful.
The heartbreaking loss sparked an outpouring of grief from friends and loved ones on social media.
Friend Kayshawna Morgane writes: “I have been speechless and crying and couldn’t sleep at all… Mental health is no joke.”
Another friend, Mich Molina, shares: “I can’t even bear to write a post about her and share memories… my heart is broken.”
In the weeks before her death, Means, using the online name Diamond Scott, shared a series of posts on Facebook that reveal her profound heartbreak over the separation from her children’s father.
Just days before the tragic event, she posted: “I wish someone would love me because the man that’s supposed to does not.”
This post hints at her feelings of abandonment and the isolation she experienced. As the days went on, her messages seemed to reflect increasing frustration and emotional distress.
“Sick of irritation, anger, sadness, and rage,” she wrote, expressing the emotional toll that her unresolved feelings and broken family dynamic were taking on her.
On October 1, a few days before the incident, Means posted about her desire to reconcile with her ex, stating: “I want my family back. Respectfully, I don’t care what I said about him before or what anyone else thinks.”
Her posts suggest that this longing was compounded by the weight of societal judgment and her own conflicted feelings.
In another message, she mentioned the importance of ‘hold[ing] on to the ones you love,’ a poignant expression of her awareness of the fragility of relationships and life itself.
In a conversation with a follower, Means revealed some of the reasons behind the breakup, referring to herself as ‘a dumb … pregnant … who swore up & down I ain’t want him.’
Despite these disclosures, police made it clear that no foul play was suspected and that the father of the children was not involved in the circumstances surrounding the incident.
