The late French seer Nostradamus has made a chilling prediction for one of our global leaders, which could see 2026 take a dark turn.

Despite living back in the 16th century, Nostradamus made many predictions about future events that would unfold long after his death, with his 1555 work titled The Prophecies said to feature 942 quatrains.

Some scholars have argued that the French seer did not possess any genuine prophetic abilities and that instead, the poetic and cryptic way in which he wrote made it easy to fit his writings to any major historical occurrence.

Nevertheless, Nostradamus has been widely credited for foretelling a number of specific historic events, such as the death of King Henry II in 1559.

Nostradamus’ predictions have come true

Interpreters claim he predicted the exact way the French King would die, in a jousting tournament, pierced in the eye through a golden cage, the Independent reports.

His prediction read: “The young lion will overcome the older one, on the field of combat in a single battle.

“He will pierce his eyes through a golden cage. Two wounds made one, then he dies a cruel death.”

What happened to King Henry II bears eerie resemblance, as he jousted with Gabriel, comte de Montgomery, seigneur de Lorges, a nobleman six years his junior, in the summer of 1559.

Montgomery’s lance tilted up and splintered into two shards. One went through the king’s visor and hit his eye, and the other lodged in his temple.

After 10 days of suffering, Henry tragically succumbed to his injuries and died.

Many people also believe Nostradamus correctly predicted the Great Fire of London.

His prediction read: “The blood of the just will be lacking in London. Burnt up in the fire of ’66.

“The ancient Lady will topple from her high place. Many of the same sect will be killed.”

And, on September 2, 1666, a small fire in a bakery on Pudding Lane in London led to a three day inferno that set the city of London alight.

Although peasant deaths weren’t recorded during that time, historians believe at least eight people died, as thousands of houses and businesses were burned to a crisp.

Other allegedly successful predictions include the French Revolution, Napoleon’s conquest, King Philip II of Spain’s reign, Louis Pasteur’s discoveries, Hitler’s terror over Europe, Charles de Gaulle’s leadership, the atomic bomb, JFK’s assassination and 9/11.

Global leader to be struck by lightning

While just a small percentage of Nostradamus’ many, many predictions are so far believed to have come into fruition, there are plenty that may simply have just not happened yet.

One particular fortelling which has recently garnered public attention is one made in the 26th verse of Century I, in which he proclaims: “The great man will be struck down in the day by a thunderbolt.”

This has widely been interpreted to be some kind of world leader, but it could also mean any kind of prominent figure, such as a member of the royal family or a huge celebrity.

What is rather less ambiguous, however, is the prediction that this person will allegedly be struck down by lightning in broad daylight.

So, if it does come true, we’ll definitely know about it, regardless of who it is.

A great swarm of bees and war

Another prediction made by Nostradamus which could pertain to this year, refers to our photosynthesizing friends.

He wrote: “The great swarm of bees will arise by the night ambush,” with many people arguing it could be this year as the verse aligns with the number 26.

As for what the rest of the prediction means, that will remain a mystery, unless some kind of event occurs which acamedics find fitting.

In another quatrain, Nostradamus wrote: “Seven months great war, people dead through evil/ Rouen, Evreux the King will not fail.”

Many have referred to this passage as meaning Russia’s war on Ukraine, particularly as he said ‘within two cities, there will be scourges the like of which was never seen’.
