Police Issue Major Suspect Update After UK Train Attack
Police have issued a major suspect update after a knife attack in the UK on Saturday (November 1), which left more than 10 people hospitalized.
A knife attack on a train in Huntingdon, UK, on Saturday evening left 11 people hospitalized, nine of whom sustained ‘life-threatening’ injuries.
Two men were initially arrested after the horrific stabbing onboard carriage J of the train which was heading to London, one 32-year-old man, and another 35-year-old man.
It had departed in Doncaster earlier that evening, and it is believed that the attack occurred shortly before 20:00 GMT.

Witnesses recalled a ‘terrifying’ 14 minutes after the train left the Peterborough stop, when the knife attack allegedly began.
The 35-year-old alleged suspect was later released from custody, after police confirmed he was not involved in the incident.
Authorities say an LNER (the train company operating the service) staff member who tried to stop the attack remains in life-threatening condition, but five others have now been discharged.
Speaking about the injured staff member, the British Transport Police released a statement which said: “Detectives have reviewed the CCTV from the train and it is clear his actions were nothing short of heroic and undoubtedly saved many people’s lives.”
The driver was also praised for diverting the train so swiftly after hearing the emergency signal.

LNER Managing Director David Horne said the whole team are ‘deeply shocked and saddened’ by the incident that unfolded on Saturday night.
He added: “I would also like to recognise the driver, crew and our operational response colleagues for their bravery and quick actions.”
One of the passengers on the train, Stephen Crean, confronted the train attacker who slashed him on the head and the hand.
Recalling the moment while speaking with the BBC, he said: “I confronted this guy, because I’ve got to make sure that the door’s locked. But then he pulled this thing out. It was an over-large blade.
“He’s gone for me and there was a tussle in the arms and that’s where my hand, the fingers are really bad, four cuts through them, sliced.
“And then he raised it and must have caught me when I was ducking and diving and caught me on the head.”

Earlier today, police issued a major suspect update on the 32-year-old who is currently being held in custody.
They revealed his identity as Anthony Williams, who appeared in court charged with 11 counts of attempted murder, following a separate knife attack on a different train just hours before.
He has also been charged with two counts of possession of a bladed article and one count of actual bodily harm.
