Prince Harry has been accused of sending an ‘unpleasant’ text message to Sentebale charity boss Sophie Chandauka.

His Sentebale charity has become embroiled in controversy following the revelation.

According to sources, the message reinforced perceptions that Harry expects subservience from those around him.

The message reportedly questioned how she planned to handle a public incident involving Meghan Markle at a fundraising polo match.

This development comes amid a deepening rift between Prince Harry and Sentebale’s board of trustees.

A significant number of trustees have resigned, citing an irreparable breakdown in their working relationship with Ms. Chandauka, Mail Online reports.

Despite this, she remains resolute in her position and has no intention of stepping down, focusing instead on continuing the charity’s mission in Lesotho and Botswana.

The controversy is linked to a charity polo match held in Miami last year. Ms. Chandauka has alleged that the event suffered due to Prince Harry’s insistence on bringing a Netflix film crew to capture footage for a documentary.

She claims this resulted in the charity losing the venue. When the event was rescheduled, Meghan Markle allegedly made an unplanned appearance, accompanied by her friend, tennis star Serena Williams.

Footage from the prize-giving ceremony appears to show Ms. Chandauka being elbowed aside by Meghan, leading to further tension.

Following the event, Harry allegedly pressured Ms. Chandauka to publicly support Meghan, a request she declined, stating that Sentebale should not be seen as an extension of the Sussex brand.

This stance reportedly exacerbated tensions, with sources suggesting that efforts were then made to force her resignation.

Ms. Chandauka has since accused the charity’s leadership of harassment, bullying, and misconduct.

She has also filed a Serious Incident Report (SIR) with the Charity Commission, which is currently under review.

While acknowledging Prince Harry’s historical contributions to the charity, she has expressed concerns about its governance and its ability to operate independently of his personal ventures.

Supporters of Prince Harry, however, argue that Ms. Chandauka’s allegations are misleading and are an attempt to undermine him.

A source close to the trustees has questioned whether her actions truly serve the best interests of the charity or whether she is using her position to target Prince Harry.

The UK Charity Commission is investigating a dispute at Sentebale, a charity co-founded by Prince Harry, per the BBC.

Despite the ongoing turmoil, Sentebale continues its work, with new trustees stepping in and fresh sponsorships emerging.
