New details have emerged after a body was found in a Tesla owned by rapper D4vd.

Los Angeles police discovered human remains in a vehicle on Monday evening.

A spokesperson for the LAPD shared that officers were responding to reports of a ‘foul odor’ from a car parked in a lot on North Mansfield Avenue.

NBC Los Angeles reported that officers found a body in a bag in the front trunk of a Tesla at Hollywood Tow.

Police Captain Robert Peters revealed that the vehicle had been parked in the lot for a few days before the disturbing discovery was made.

The Tesla is registered in Hempstead, Texas, to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.

D4vd is best known for his hit viral song ‘Romantic Homicide’, which gained attention on TikTok.

He has since had several other successes with over one billion Spotify streams.

The 20-year-old musician is currently on his Withered world tour, and continued with his scheduled Minnesota concert the following day.

TMZ reported that the human remains were ‘decomposed’ and ‘chopped up’ into pieces.

The Tesla had been left on a public street for more than 72 hours.

The L.A. Department of Transportation impounded the vehicle last Friday, and there were no reports of it being stolen.

Law enforcement has since confirmed they made the popular musician aware of the body found in his vehicle.

A spokesperson for D4vd shared with NBC News: “He has been informed about what’s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities.”

Despite D4vd’s cooperation, Crocs and Hollister had removed the singer from their campaigns, according to WWD.

The brands shared in a joint statement: “We are aware of this developing story. With respect to the current situation, we have removed campaign content featuring D4vd while the investigation continues.”

Aerial footage has since been captured, showing yellow police tape around the vehicle, with investigators removing evidence from the Tesla.

NBC Los Angeles has revealed that homicide investigators believe the remains to be those of a woman.

But added that the ‘remains were not intact, and identification will be delayed due to the decomposition of the remains.’

The Los Angeles Times reports that, according to a law enforcement source, the remains found were a head and torso.

Although authorities have not yet confirmed whether the woman was a victim of a crime, a source reportedly told NBCLA there are ‘sinister signs,’ including the body being wrapped in a unique container.’

The Los Angeles Times reported that another woman’s remains were found partially burned on Tuesday in a Honda Civic that was logged as towed August 25.

Police are unable to comment on this case, which has led to speculation that the cases may be linked.

Authorities have stated there is no evidence to support this theory.
