USA Issues Urgent ‘Do Not Travel’ Warning For Two Countries
The U.S. government has recently issued an urgent ‘do not travel’ advisory for two nations.
It cites severe safety concerns such as terrorism, violent crime, and the inability to provide adequate assistance to American citizens in these areas.
Although international travel offers enriching experiences, officials stress the importance of being informed about current risks before planning trips abroad.

The U.S. State Department has warned: “Do not travel to these areas for any reason. Violent crime, like armed robbery and murder, is common in these locations. Terrorist groups are active in some areas here.”
The department has specifically advised against travel to certain parts of Colombia, where escalating violence and terrorist activity have raised red flags.
The warning emphasizes that U.S. government employees are banned from visiting these regions, underscoring the seriousness of the threats.

High-risk areas in Colombia include Arauca, Cauca, and the Colombia-Venezuela border.
These regions are plagued by organized criminal networks, which are frequently involved in activities such as extortion, robbery, kidnapping, and murder.
The State Department also pointed out that ‘there is [a] risk of terrorist violence, including terrorist attacks and other activity, in Colombia.’
Another critical concern is that U.S. nationals who enter Colombia without the proper visa have reportedly faced terrorism-related charges, which in some instances have led to extended detention.

The second country on the State Department’s no-travel list is Burkina Faso, a West African nation currently grappling with severe instability.
With ongoing terrorist threats and widespread criminal activity, the U.S. government has advised its citizens to avoid traveling there under any circumstances.
The advisory warns: “Do not travel to Burkina Faso for any reason due to terrorism, crime, and kidnapping.”
The situation in Burkina Faso is especially alarming due to the reach of terrorist groups across much of the country, including the capital city, Ouagadougou.
The advisory elaborates that ‘the threat of kidnapping remains persistent throughout Burkina Faso, including in Ouagadougou and especially in the Sahel and East regions.’
Because of these dangers, U.S. personnel are restricted from traveling outside the capital, and the U.S. government admits it cannot reliably provide emergency services to citizens in most of the country.
