Super Bowl Fans Divided Over What Happened When Camera Panned To Donald Trump During National Anthem
Super Bowl fans have been left divided over what happened when the camera panned to President Donald Trump during the national anthem.
Trump made history during this year’s Super Bowl, being the first sitting president to attend the highly anticipated sporting game.
The 78-year-old watched the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles at the New Orleans Superdome on Sunday evening.

Trump started his second presidential term on January 20 and although he got the popular vote, the businessman being back in power has divided America.
Since being back in office, the president has wasted no time in reversing much of Joe Biden’s policies and has made controversial statements to the shock of people worldwide.
For instance, Trump recently announced plans for the U.S. to rebuild and take control of Gaza, turning it into the ‘Riviera of the Middle East.’
Before his appearance at the Super Bowl, the president said he was looking forward to joining fans for a sense of national unity and patriotism.
Trump said: “The coaches, players, and team staff on the field tonight represent the best of the best in professional football, but they also embody the best of the American dream.”
He also shared that the game is an annual opportunity to transcend differences, saying that the Chiefs and Eagles: “Represent the hopes and dreams of our nation’s young athletes as we restore safety and fairness in sports and equal opportunities among their teams.”

After arriving at the Superdome, Trump met with participants in the honorary coin toss.
The president predicted the Chiefs would win, with Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes being the difference-maker.
Friction between Trump and the NFL emerged during his first term as president in 2016 – he took issue with players kneeling during the national anthem in protest of social and racist injustices.
Trump shared at a rally in Huntsville, Alabama, in 2017: “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, you’d say, ’Get that son of a b**** off the field right now. Out! He’s fired.’”
At this year’s Super Bowl, viewers were left divided when the camera panned to the president during Jon Batiste’s performance of the national anthem.
There were conflicting opinions on whether the crowd booed or cheered at Trump.

One social media user insisted: “The Super Bowl erupted in cheers when Donald Trump was shown during the national anthem.”
Another agreed, adding: “The crowd went wild in applause when President Donald Trump appeared on screen during the national anthem. Incredible to witness. The people love Trump.”
“The rousing reception that President Donald Trump received during the national anthem almost brought tears of pride to my eyes, and I’m not even American,” somebody else said.
However, others believe the reaction was entirely different.
One person wrote: “Trump was booed. I don’t understand people saying he was cheered.”
Another observed: “Trump getting viciously booed at the Super Bowl.”

This isn’t the only reason Trump’s presence at the Super Bowl made headlines.
The president took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and made a dig at Taylor Swift, who attended the Super Bowl in support of her Chiefs player boyfriend Travis Kelce.
After the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer was booed when she appeared on screen, Trump wrote: “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansa City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out the stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving.”
Despite Trump’s claims, Swift wasn’t forced to leave the stadium due to jeers.
The pair seemingly have bad blood, with both not holding back on their opinions of each other.
Swift publically backed Kamala Harris in last year’s election.
