Torie Bowie Dead: The Olympic gold medallist has tragically died at just 32 years old.

An Olympic gold medalist has tragically died aged just 32. 

Tori Bowie was an American track and field athlete who competed in the long jump, 100m and 200m events.

Bowie competed at the 2016 Olympics, where she won gold in the 4x100m relay.

She also won silver in the 100m dash and bronze in the 200m race, and was the 2017 100m world champion.

Tragically, Bowie’s management company has announced that the sports star has passed away.

Icon Management shared a statement confirming the saddening news.

It reads: “We’re devastated to share the very sad news that Tori Bowie has passed away.

“We’ve lost a client, dear friend, daughter and sister.

“Tori was a champion…a beacon of light that shined so bright! We’re truly heartbroken and our prayers are with the family and friends.”

Fans of the star have taken to Twitter to express both their shock and sadness.

One person writes: “I can’t believe this. I had just heard word of her going to be with her sister back home and now this.

“This breaks my heart to hear and I will keep the family in my prayers.”

A second adds: “So devastating and shocking to learn of the passing on of Tori Bowie.

“The world of athletics have lost a great champion and patriot of the sport, rest in peace Tori.

“Condolences to the greater family of Tori Bowie, together in prayers.”

A third comments: “This is a complete and utter shock! I can’t believe this.

“Life makes absolutely NO sense when death takes someone like this from us!

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family!”

While a fourth person pens: “Sad and shocking news.

“Tori’s Bowie was a great champion of the sport and will be missed. Condolences to her family at this time.”

At the time of writing, Bowie’s cause of death has yet to be revealed.

The sportswoman is believed to have spent the past four years living quietly in Florida, as per Daily Mail.

Bowie grew up in Sand Hill, Mississippi, and as an infant, she and her sister were reportedly dropped off at foster care by their mother.

Later on, they were adopted by their biological grandmother.

The Olympian began competing as a track athlete at high school and after she shot to stardom, she shared that her family and faith had inspired her.

“My entire life has been a struggle. It’s amazing hearing it, it’s something I always dreamed of. It’s humbling. I’ve been through so much and I haven’t let anything defeat me yet,” she said (via MailOnline).
