Pamela Anderson has revealed the X-rated request Hugh Hefner made that helped her to realize it was time to leave the Playboy Mansion for good.
The actress and model, known for her roles in Baywatch and V.I.P., rose to fame as a Playboy Playmate.
She debuted as Playmate of the Month in February 1990 and graced more Playboy covers than any other model in history.
Despite her iconic status within the Playboy brand, Anderson revealed in a 2018 interview why she eventually decided to move on from the mansion.
Despite the unusual circumstances that prompted her departure, she credited Hefner as a pivotal figure in her professional life.
Following his death in 2017, Anderson paid tribute to Hefner on Instagram, calling him ‘the most important person in [her] life’ apart from her family.
In her heartfelt post, she acknowledged his role in shaping her public image and encouraging her individuality.
“Everything anyone loves about me is because you understood me,” she wrote.
“You accepted me and encouraged me to be myself… You said the magazine was about a girl like me.”
Anderson concluded her tribute with fond words for Hefner, describing him as a ‘gentleman,’ as well as ‘charming, elegant, chivalrous, and so much fun.’
She expressed her gratitude for his influence, writing: “Thank you for making the world a better place. A freer and sexier place. I will miss your everything.”
While Anderson’s experience at the Playboy Mansion ultimately prompted her departure, she has remained vocal about her appreciation for Hefner’s impact on her life and career.
Anderson’s revelation adds to a growing collection of stories shared by former Playboy models, many of which surfaced following the 2017 passing of Hugh Hefner, the magazine’s founder.
Anderson, during an episode of Life Stories with Piers Morgan, recounted an unsettling experience at the mansion that became a turning point for her.
During the interview, Anderson spoke openly about her time at Playboy, reflecting on both the positive and challenging moments.
When asked about her decision to leave, she detailed a particular incident that left her deeply uncomfortable.
It began when she followed a group of women and Hefner upstairs in the mansion, curious about what was happening.
“I followed them upstairs. I thought, ‘What could be going on up here?'” Anderson recalled.
She then described the shocking scene: “Seven girls, one at a time with Hef.”
Standing at the foot of the bed, she suddenly noticed that the others were watching her.
“I thought, ‘This is not a movie. I need to leave.’”
This bizarre and uncomfortable experience solidified her decision to part ways with the mansion.
However, Anderson emphasized that the incident did not tarnish her friendship with Hefner.
She spoke warmly of their relationship, expressing gratitude for the opportunities he provided throughout her career.
