A parenting expert has warned against the dangers of being ‘overly strict’ with daughters.
Aly Pain recently took to her TikTok account, which has amassed almost 500,000 followers, to dish out the advice.
Explaining the importance of being flexible, the woman explained that she grew up with strict parents and detailed the problems that arose from that.
Prince Harry Blasts Charles’ Parenting Skills In Scathing Interview
She said: “Parents of daughters, if you’re in the frame of mind where parenting is [the] absolute authority, your word is the last word, there’s no room for talking back or speaking up, their opinions aren’t welcome.
“You’ve laid down the boundaries and rules and that’s how it’s going to roll.
“Project that into the future for a moment when they date. How is your daughter going to think men will treat her? How will she think she is allowed to be treated by them?”
She then explained: “I started dating cause I was looking for love in all the wrong places and never found it.
“I literally didn’t know I had permission to set a boundary with men.”
The TikToker went on to say that she believes if a young girl doesn’t have permission to take part in a dialogue or disagree with her parents, it will be difficult for her to use her voice in the real world.

As a teen, the expert claims she suffered from eating disorders and anxiety and claims this is because she thought her parents even had the final say over her body.
Viewers took to the comments section to agree with her sentiment.
One commented: “Oh the accuracy of this, she believes she is not deserving of basic respect and boundaries. She doesn’t know. I’m learning this now.”
Another added: “Ahh the emotional intelligence. I wish more parents got this.”
