People Are Spending Lockdown Making Delicious Lotus Biscoff Mousse!

People are spending the coronavirus lockdown making delicious Lotus Biscoff mousse which looks like it could give Biscoff lasagne and Biscoff fudge a run for its money.

Ideal as mini desserts for weddings, parties and just to fulfil your sweet tooth needs, Biscoff mousse is now a thing and they look divine served in tiny cups or ramekins.

Topped with luscious Biscoff spread, the fluffy mousse has layers of crushed caramel biscuits and looks too good to resist.

Luckily, they are pretty simple to make too, as Sydney based foodie Walla Abu-Eid has shared her recipe with Tyla.

To start, you’ll need an electric whisk (or a whole lot of elbow grease), 10tsp of melted Biscoff spread, 600ml of thickened cream (heavy whipped cream) and ideally, some Lotus Biscoff biscuits for that added touch.

To begin making the Biscoff mousse, Walla says that you need to whip the cream with your electric mixer or by hand, until you have soft peaks form on the top.

Following this, you need to place your jar of Biscoff spread in the microwave and leave it for around 20 seconds – just wait until it has softened. Once you have it nice and soft, place 10 tablespoons of it over your cream and then fold it together with a spatula. Stop when there are no longer any streaks.

To make it look as good as it tastes (hopefully), layer your mousse on top of crushed Biscoff biscuits that should be placed at the bottom of your ramekins. Then layer with the softened spread and then finish it off by decorating it with Biscoff biscuits.

Before you can indulge in the rich Biscoff mousses, you’ll need to leave them in the fridge for a minimum of two hours.
