TV presenter Phillip Schofield has spoken out after his brother was found guilty of s**ually abusing a teenage boy.
Schofield, 61, is best known for presenting This Morning and Dancing On Ice alongside his regular presenting partner, Holly Willoughby.
His younger brother, Timothy Schofield, 54, has been charged with 11 s**ual offences involving a child between October 2016 and October 2019.
The jury returned majority verdicts finding him guilty of all counts after nearly six hours of deliberations.

According to Sky News, Schofield has released a damning statement following the verdicts.
Labelling his brother’s crimes as ‘despicable’, he says: “As far as I am concerned, I no longer have a brother.
“My overwhelming concern is and has always been for the wellbeing of the victim and his family.
“I hope that their privacy will now be respected.
“If any crime had ever been confessed to me by my brother, I would have acted immediately to protect the victim and their family.
“These are despicable crimes, and I welcome the guilty verdicts.”

Timothy strongly denied having performed s**ual acts upon the teenager but told the jury he watch adult films with the boy and they had m***urbated together.
He insisted that the boy was over 16 years old at the time but did admit to searching for ‘young boy teen s**’ and ‘gay teen torrents’ on a legal p*** website.
He told the court he believed this would bring up clips showing men aged between 18 and their early 20s.
Timothy, who’s a civilian police worker from Bath, testified that he told his famous brother about watching p***ography with the boy in September 2021.
In a written statement provided to the trial, Schofield said Timothy ‘made it sound like a one-off’ and that he had told him it ‘must never happen again’.
Schofield described his brother phoning him up in an agitated and upset state, after which he invited Timothy to drive to his London home.
The court heard how the pair spent hours talking, which is when Schofield says his brother said: “You are going to hate me for what I am about to say.”
The TV star assured his brother that that wasn’t possible.
Schofield said in his statement: “Then he said that he and [the boy] had time together and that last year they had watched p***… and [m***urbated].
“I turned and said: ‘What did you just say?’ He said it was last year and we were alone together. Tim said it was just this once. I told him it should never happen again. He then started to tell me about [the boy’s] body.
“I said: ‘F***, stop’. I shouted at Tim that he had to stop. I didn’t want to know any of the details but he made it sound like a one-off.

“I said: ‘I don’t want you to tell me any more’. I said: ‘You’ve got to stop, just never do it again. Regardless of how that happened, it must never happen again’.”
Timothy Schofield denied all the charges against him – three counts of causing a child to watch s**ual activity, three of engaging in s**ual activity in the presence of a child, three of causing a child to engage in s**ual activity, and two of s**ual activity with a child.
Judge Mrs Justice Cutts remanded him in custody ahead of sentencing at Bristol Crown Court on 19 May.
This Morning has now broken its silence on Schofield’s situation as he is set to be missing from the daytime show for weeks.
He celebrated his birthday at the beginning of April and the ITV hit sent him a special message.
The post read: “Happy birthday @schofe, from everyone at This Morning.”
