The reason Phillip Schofield, who recently apologised for laughing at a guest’s ‘unusual phobia,’ won’t be on This Morning for the rest of the week has been revealed.
The TV presenter took to Instagram on January 31 and announced that he’s had a positive lateral flow test.
He captioned the post: “Well b***ocks.”

After revealing he’s tested positive, Schofield reassured his followers that currently, he just has a ‘sore throat’.
News of the 59-year-old’s results reportedly sent the ITV team into chaos, as they scrambled to find a replacement.
Apparently, Alison Hammond was forced to step in at the last minute on February 1 and work alongside Rochelle Humes, who is also standing in for Holly Willoughby.
Hammond broke the news on This Morning, telling viewers: “Poor Phil, he’s obviously tested positive so he can’t be here in the studio today.
“Don’t worry, he can be at home and he can be with all of us right now.”
Jokingly, she added: “We believe you, don’t worry.”
To which Humes quipped: “I thought he just didn’t like me anymore.”

Although Schofield – who shared a selfie of himself crying last week – won’t be presenting, he’s continued to stay tuned for the programme.
Posting a photo of himself appearing on the daytime show virtually, he commented: “Not quite the way I’d planned to be on This Morning today.”
Viewers were quick to share their well-wishes to him on Twitter.
One fan penned: “Get better soon Phillip and hope you will be back soon. Nice to see @AlisonHammond today on the show with @RochelleHumes.”
“Phillip, miss you, but love @AlisonHammond,” added another.
