Piers Morgan leaving Good Morning Britain has resulted in the show’s lowest-ever ratings.

The ITV programme is now down to 500,000 viewers from the 1.29million that tuned in last week, as the TV presenter sensationally quit.

He caused outrage when he revealed he didn’t ‘believe a word’ of Meghan Markle’s Oprah Winfrey interview on CBS.

The 55-year-old ranted: “I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she said.

“Who did you go to? What did they say to you? I wouldn’t believe it if she read me a weather report.”

Three separate petitions have since been launched, urging producers to bring back Morgan.

Ben Shepherd is currently presenting the show, alongside Susanna Reid.

On Wednesday’s show, the pair mocked the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for leaking private conversations they’ve had with Prince Charles.

Reid also slammed the couple for being ‘disingenuous’ about their desire for privacy, describing it as ‘sad to have to air all of this in public’.

She said: “They want to earn money and be successful.

“So they do want to share a certain amount of information about themselves, they just didn’t like the way that they were covered.

“So it’s disingenuous to say they wanted everything private.”
