Piers Morgan, who recently called for Chrissy Teigen to be cancelled, has now dubbed Meghan Markle ‘Princess Pinocchio’ in his latest dig.

The outspoken TV presenter recently took to Twitter to let his followers know that it was his decision to quit Good Morning Britain, after he made controversial comments about the Duchess of Sussex, and ITV did not get ‘rid’ of him.

Responding to a follower, Morgan penned: “ITV didn’t get rid of me. I left GMB because I declined to apologise for disbelieving Princess Pinocchio.”

He added: “But I still work for ITV, as you’ll see tomorrow when Life Stories show with @joancollinsdbe airs at 9pm.”

Morgan has faced a backlash over his relentless criticism of Markle and her husband Prince Harry.

Back in March, there were reports that the Duchess had made a formal complaint to UK media regulator Ofcom about his behaviour.

Markle, who recently welcomed a baby girl, has never spoken publically about Morgan.

She is expected to give out an interview to US radio show NPR Weekend on June 21 about her new kids’ book, ‘The Bench’.

Opening up about the inspiration behind it, she said in a statement: “’The Bench’ started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born.

“That poem became this story. Christian [Robinson] layered in beautiful and ethereal watercolour illustrations that capture the warmth, joy, and comfort of the relationship between fathers and sons from all walks of life; this representation was particularly important to me, and Christian and I worked closely to depict this special bond through an inclusive lens.
“My hope is that ‘The Bench’ resonates with every family, no matter the makeup, as much as it does with mine.”
