Piers Morgan, who recently revealed he’s going on a ‘hugging ban,’ has said he plans to return to his job at Good Morning Britain by ‘identifying as a woman’.

In the journalist’s latest column for the Mail on Sunday, he commented on how the daytime show’s ratings have plummeted since he quit after he refused to apologise over his comments about Meghan Markle.

He penned: “Good Morning Britain’s tumbling ratings have plunged to their lowest ever level as just 451,000 people tuned in to Wednesday’s show with comedian Adil Ray sitting in my old chair.

“Newspaper reports today suggest ITV want Susanna Reid to have a female-presenting partner to stop the rot.

“If it appeases the woke brigade, I’m prepared to identify as a woman to get the ratings back to the peak of 1.9million where I left them.”

This marks the second time in days that Morgan has suggested he should identify as a woman.

The 56-year-old also recently put his name down to fight retired boxing champion and Strictly Come Dancing star Nicola Adams.

It started when Nicola – whose fighting name is The Lioness – tweeted: “Which famous person would you like to see me fight ??? I know you want Piers Morgan but it needs to be a female [laughing emoji].”

In response, Morgan said: “I’m currently identifying as female… bring it on.”

After the TV presenter exited the role on GMB, he’s been replaced by a number of presenters, including Adil Ray.

However, the 46-year-old was recently forced to hit back at ITV viewers who’ve cruelly said he’s ‘too Muslim’ to present the show.
