Piers Morgan returned to the pub where he met Meghan Markle for the first time to celebrate landing his new TV role.
The TV presenter, who quit GMB following a row over comments he made about the Duchess earlier this year, enjoyed a few pints at the Scarsdale Tavern in Kensington, West London, and gave an interview to The Sun.
He said: “I need to say a special thank you, Meghan. As we sit drinking now, it was five years ago I met her here.

“And I bet she was sitting there celebrating my departure from Good Morning Britain so this move will be the stuff of nightmares for her.
“So cheers Meghan!”
The journalist also opened up about his new job, revealing that he had ‘about 20’ offers before he made his final decision. He has not revealed exactly what the other offers were.
It’s now been confirmed that Morgan will be writing weekly columns, alongside fronting a true-crime crime series. Plus, he will be on talkTV, which will air in the UK, US and Australia.
“We’re going to have some fun,” he said. “I want my global show to be a fearless forum for lively debate and agenda-setting interviews, and a place that celebrates the right of everyone to have an opinion, and for those opinions to be vigorously examined and challenged.”
After hearing of Morgan’s news about his latest job roles, his former GMB co-host, Susanna Reid, sent out her congratulations.
Alongside clapping emojis, she tweeted: “Congratulations @piersmorgan.”
