A Piers Morgan troll has been ‘arrested after sending chilling death threats to the TV presenter and his son,’ according to The Sun

The publication claims that the 56-year-old and his eldest, Spencer, have reported the crime to the Met Police who are ‘taking it so seriously’.

Discussing the incident, Morgan said: “People think it’s perfectly okay to make death threats to public figures on social media but it’s not — there has to be a line drawn, especially when family members are targeted.

“That’s why I reported it and I am grateful to the Met Police and Greater Manchester Police for taking it so seriously.”

The suspect, who is supposedly male, has reportedly been arrested under the Malicious Communications Act.

It’s believed that before the arrest, the troll sent messages to Morgan that claimed he’s a ‘marked man’ who they had made a ‘promise’ to get ‘killed’.

Morgan’s son has reportedly also been told that if his dad wasn’t harmed, he would ‘get it’ instead.

Apparently, the alleged threats have worried the journalist so much that he has even had a ‘panic button’ installed beside his bed.

A source reportedly told the publication that Morgan will not ‘tolerate’ these ‘evil threats’.

The insider apparently said: “This is a point of principle for Piers — he will not tolerate evil threats being sent to his loved ones.

“A troll sent an unbelievably vile and graphic message to both Piers and Spencer, pledging to kill.

“Piers hopes this evil troll ends up in prison where he belongs.

“Hopefully it’ll also act as a deterrent to other online abusers.”
