A plane passenger has sparked a debate after ‘eating a massive lobster platter’ during a flight.
The woman, who was reportedly on a Spirit Airlines flight, went viral after being shared onto the subreddit page r/Trashy, which shows her tucking into the seafood dish, alongside some vegetables.
The post was captioned: “A little in-flight lobster…”
Since being shared, the post has accumulated thousands of comments, with many questioning how it was even ‘allowed’.
One Reddit user fumed: “How the hell? I can’t even bring a full f***ing tube of toothpaste on a plane.”
Jokingly, another said: “She obviously bought a ticket for the lobsters.”
“As someone who loves to eat lobster/crayfish any chance they get… This is just rude as f***,” a third commented. “[I] don’t even eat it at work since I know how offensive seafood can be.”
A fourth ranted: “How can you be so f***ing obsessed with eating piles of seafood that you can’t even wait until after being locked in a tube with a load of other people? Like the sea is not gonna run out of crustaceans to crack open, give it a rest!”
Others took to the comments and pointed out that allowing the woman to take the seafood onboard could be ‘a health and safety hazard’.
Explaining why it could be ‘dangerous,’ one forum user wrote: “1. The smell. 2. Could this be dangerous to someone sitting near who is allergic? 3. It’s just a bit rude to me 4. If they get turbulence that food is spilling everywhere 5. It’s so much food I’d imagine they’d be eating the whole time – their masks would be off. 6. It’s just messy, I can’t imagine the greasiness they’ll leave behind.”
