A postwoman who joked she only waits ‘two seconds’ for people to answer the door before leaving with their deliveries has gone viral.

Laura Orgill, also known as TikTok Posite, shared a video on the platform showing herself laughing after posting a ‘we missed you’ leaflet through the letterbox.

She captioned it: “When customers take ages to answer the door.”

The clip, which has been branded ‘hilarious,’ has racked up over 1.5million views and thousands of comments.

However, not everybody saw the funny side and some urged her to ‘delete’ it as it could jeopardise her job.

One person wrote: “Funny but don’t think Royal Mail will like it lol.”

Another added: “Oh dear, that’s really not good customer relations for Royal Mail. Got a feeling you’re going to be with your manager explaining this one.”

Orgill has now uploaded another video responding to the negative comments she’s received with her ‘side of the story’ and insisted the clip shouldn’t be taken ‘seriously’.

She said: “I’m very upset about the situation.

“All I did was use a trend and sound and try and think of a funny scenario that people think the posties do to match the sound and, unfortunately, people have taken it seriously.

“All I’ve tried to do is use my platform to spread positivity and fun during such uncertain times.”

She added: “I just want to say thank you to everyone for the love and support. Who would have thought trying to spread some fun and positivity could lead to all this madness.”

A Royal Mail spokesperson has also issued a statement to the Daily Mail.

It reads: “Royal Mail always strives to give customers the highest levels of service.

“Our postmen and postwomen always go the extra mile to get customers their mail as quickly and as conveniently as possible.

“We have discussed this with the employee concerned, and reminded her of the need to always uphold the highest standards.”
