“A maternity capsule wardrobe will make life easy and our range, all in timeless neutral tones, will be the foundation of your new wardrobe as the weather gets colder.”
Many took to the comments section and said Primark had ‘gone too far’ with its attempt to be inclusive.
One follower commented: “Parenthood?? Maternity.”
Another added: “Parenthood range? For the love of God!”
Pitching in, a third remarked: It’s gone too far now.”
A separate customer added that the name wasn’t appropriate for surrogates, before poking fun with other suggestions.
They wrote: “So, what if us surrogates aren’t entering ‘parenthood’.
“What was wrong with ‘maternity wear’ or maybe spice it up with ‘human builder’s uniforms’ or ‘womb raider collection,’ you love it don’t you.
“Hit me up Primark. Let’s work together.”
However, other customers have praised the fashion giant for its move and asked when and where they can get their hands on the items.
One shopper said: “I mean I don’t really get what the ‘good lord above’ comment was about because I don’t really understand what the problem with it being called parenthood is.
“Like it’s aimed at parents, why is that in any way a bad name for the range?”
“OMG, you guys are killing it,” said a second.
Pitching in, a third simply commented: “What a great idea Primark!”
