Prince Harry, who recently confirmed he has a new TV show on the way with Oprah Winfrey, has sparked outrage after dubbing America’s First Amendment ‘bonkers’.

The Duke of Sussex made the comments while appearing on Dax Shepherd’s Armchair Expert.

He said: “I don’t want to start going down the First Amendment route because that’s a huge subject and one which I don’t understand because I’ve only been here a short time.

“But, you can find a loophole in anything.”

“You can capitalise or exploit what’s not said rather than uphold what is said.”

Essentially, the First Amendment allows several basic freedoms within the US. Amongst these are the freedom of speech, the right to petition the government, and freedom of religion.

So many people have been left surprised by Prince Harry’s comments, as he moved to America last year to start a new life with his wife Meghan Markle and their son, Archie.

On Twitter, Nigel Farage wrote: “For Prince Harry to condemn the USA’s First Amendment shows he has lost the plot. Soon he will not be wanted on either side of the pond.”

A second ranted: “Get the hell out of America.”

“I’m not an American, but their First Amendment is the greatest human accomplishment since we learned how to make fire two million years ago,” a third penned. “Prince Harry belongs in that era.”

In the same podcast, the Duke also blasted Prince Charles’ parenting skills

The 36-year-old revealed that his father had ‘suffered’ in his upbringing when being raised by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, adding he was raised ‘the way he was treated’.

Prince Harry then praised his mother, Princess Diana, and said her loss had left an ‘immense impact’ on him.
