Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Stripped Of Royal Titles By The Queen

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been stripped of their royal titles by The Queen.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit their roles as senior working royals last year and swiftly moved to the US, into a £14.7 million mansion, in a bid to become ‘financially independent’.

Buckingham Palace has now confirmed in a statement that they will not be returning to their roles as working members of the Royal Family.

It reads: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed to Her Majesty The Queen that they will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family.

“Following conversations with The Duke, The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service.

“The honorary military appointments and Royal patronages held by The Duke and Duchess will therefore be returned to Her Majesty, before being redistributed among working members of The Royal Family.”

Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson has also released a statement.

It reads: “As evidenced by their work over the past year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain committed to their duty and service to the UK and around the world, and have offered their continued support to the organisations they have represented regardless of official role.”

“We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.”

Harry and Meghan recently confirmed they will be taking part in a televised interview with Oprah Winfrey, which will air on CBS next month.

According to reports, the couple will discuss everything from #Megxit, their break with the Royal Family, plus their new lives in the US.

They are also expected to open up about why their son, Archie, wasn’t given a royal title.
