Prince Harry accuses his family of ‘total neglect’ in his latest interview with Oprah Winfrey.
In the documentary – titled The Me You Can’t See – the Duke of Sussex opened up about his mental health struggles and the trauma of his mother’s death.
He claims that when he reached out to the Royals to ask for help, ‘every single ask, request, warning, whatever it is, to stop just got met with total silence or total neglect’.

Elsewhere in the chat, he revealed he’s been in therapy for ‘four or five years’ and admitted to using drugs and alcohol in the past to numb the pain he was feeling.
He said: “I was willing to drink, I was willing to take drugs, I was willing to try and do the things that made me feel less like I was feeling.
“But I slowly became aware that, okay, I wasn’t drinking Monday to Friday, but I would probably drink a week’s worth in one day on a Friday or a Saturday night.
“And I would find myself drinking, not because I was enjoying it but because I was trying to mask something.”
Opening up about Prince Charles’ parenting style, the Duke said a lot of what he experienced in his childhood just didn’t ‘make sense’.
He said: “My father used to say to me when I was younger, he used to say to both William and I, ‘Well, it was like that for me so it’s going to be like that for you.’
“That doesn’t make sense. Just because you suffered, that doesn’t mean your kids have to suffer. Actually quite the opposite.
“If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever negative experiences you had, you can make it right for your kids.”
“We chose to put our mental health first. That’s what we’re doing. And that’s what we will continue to do. Isn’t this all about breaking the cycle?
“Isn’t it all about making sure that history doesn’t repeat itself? That whatever pain and suffering has happened to you, that you don’t pass on.”
He also opened up about Meghan Markle’s struggles with her own mental health and how she became suicidal while pregnant with their first child, Archie.
He said: “Meghan decided to share with me the suicidal thoughts and the practicalities of how she was going to end her life.
“The scariest thing for her was her clarity of thought.”
