A producer has said he ‘hopes’ Alec Baldwin will be charged with manslaughter after the actor ‘discharged a prop gun that killed a woman and injured a man’ while filming Rust in New Mexico.
Despite being flown over to hospital by helicopter, Halyna Hutchins, 42, was pronounced dead following the incident, while director Joel Souza, 48, received emergency care.
Following the tragic news, film producer Errol Webber has taken to Twitter and slammed the Democrats for ‘protecting criminals’.

He tweeted: “Hopefully Alec Baldwin gets manslaughter at the very least.
“But knowing the Democrats and their penchant for protecting criminals, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets off with 10 hours of community service… If that.”
The producer then referenced a tweet the Hollywood actor shared back in 2017, which read: “I wonder how it must feel to wrongfully kill someone…”
Many people have since taken to the comments and blasted Webber for turning the tragedy into an issue of politics.

One person responded: “Why should he? It was a prop, whoever handles the prop department should be held responsible.”
Another added: “What a dangerous and ill-informed take.”
“The propmaster who failed to check the gun was safe should be the one who is prosecuted,” a third wrote. “Was Michael Massee prosecuted after Brandon Lee’s death?”
However, others side with the producer and dubbed Baldwin a ‘protected species’.
One Twitter user penned: “You are to treat all firearms, real, fake, toy, or prop, as you would a real gun with live ammo.
“While some responsibility should be with the armourer, ultimately, the responsibility lies with the person holding the gun, POINTING IT AT SOMEONE, and discharging the gun.”
Pitching in, a second remarked: “Baldwin will get nothing. He’s on the side of the protected species.”
