The Queen reportedly buys all her 1,500 members of staff the same £8 Christmas present every year.

According to the Royal Family’s official website, her Majesty makes sure that each and every one of her employees is given a Christmas pudding, which is a tradition that her grandad, George V, started up.

Apparently, Elizabeth II used to splash out on the Harrods or Fortnum & Mason version of the dessert. But it’s believed that she now opts for the much cheaper Tesco’s Finest Matured Christmas Pudding.

Reportedly, the cut on the staff present was made to save the Royal Family some money.

However, The Queen still makes sure that all of her employees receive a Christmas card.

For members of staff who have worked for the Royal Family for a long period of time, it’s believed that they also benefit from one extra gift.

According to Wales Online, employees may receive an email as early as March, requesting them to tell the Monarch what kind of voucher they would like.

It’s believed that the longer the person is employed, the more money will be placed on the gift card. However, it’s apparently capped at £35.

Reportedly, the staff also receive their Christmas presents in a very orderly fashion.

The employees are made to wait out on the Palace grounds and have to listen to the Lord Chamberlain, who tells them how they’ve performed for the year – which doesn’t seem particularly festive.

One by one, The Queen then gives the staff their gifts in order of the staff hierarchy, which reportedly starts with the private secretaries and finishes with the cleaners and outside staff, who typically aren’t allowed in the Palace.
