Rebekah Vardy broke down in tears and said she felt ‘let down’ in her first TV interview since losing the ‘Wagatha Christie’ case to Coleen Rooney.

Vardy sat down with TalkTV’s Kate McCann to answer questions about the three-year saga, which finally finished on Wednesday at London High Court last week.

In a teaser clip posted to socials by TalkTV, Vardy says to McCann: “Oh come on, you can’t ask me that.”

Defending herself, she adds: “I will say that ’til I’m blue in the face. I did not do it!”

In response to another question, Vardy says: “I feel let down by a lot of people, a lot of things. But most importantly I feel let down by the legal system.”

Later in the clip, she gets upset and comments: “I’m going to cry!”

Shortly after the court verdict was delivered, Rooney released a statement in which she said she wished no ill will towards Vardy, and that it was a case she neither ‘sought nor wanted’.

She wrote: “Today’s judgement makes clear that I was right in what I said in my posts of October 2019.

“It was not a case I ever sought or wanted. I never believed it should have gone to court at such expense in times of hardship for so many people when the money could have been far better spent helping others.

“Both before and after my social media posts in October 2019, I made every effort to avoid the need for such a drawn-out and public court case. All my attempts to do so were knocked back by Mrs (Rebekah) Vardy.

According to the Mirror, in her own statement posted on social, Vardy said she was ‘extremely sad and disappointed’ by the decision, and she did not accept it nor believe it ‘was just’.

The TalkTV interview with Rebekah Vardy will air tomorrow night (August 3) at 7pm.
