Good Morning Britain’s Richard Madeley has branded Chris Rock the ‘rudest celebrity‘ he’s ever interviewed.

Madeley, 66, is a TV presenter and writer who is known for his outspoken attitude.

In the comedy show, the comedian finally speaks out about being slapped by Will Smith, 54, at the Oscars.

The incident was triggered by Rock making a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, 51, and her shaven head.

In the sketch, the Night School star says: “You never know who might get triggered.

“You know what people say, they say, ‘words hurt’.

“Anybody that says words hurt has never been punched in the face.”

He adds: “People are like, ‘Did it hurt?’ It still hurts! I got ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ears.”

Elsewhere in the sketch, Rock goes on to comment on the A-list couple’s Red Table Talk show, and how they discuss Pinkett Smith’s affair.

Commenting on this, the comedian says: “We’ve all been cheated on. Everybody in here has been cheated on.

“None of us has ever been interviewed by the person that cheated on us… on television. She hurt him way more than he hurt me.”

Referencing the stand-up show, Madeley says: “I’m not defending what happened to him, it’s wrong, completely wrong.

“But in 50 years in this game, he is the rudest man I’ve ever had to interview, Chris Rock.”

He then recalls interviewing Rock alongside actor Ben Stiller, 57, when the pair were promoting the kids’ film, Madagascar.

Madeley says: “I have to say, it stands out in my memory. He was just consistently unbelievably rude. A thoroughly unpleasant piece of work.”

He then remarks: “I didn’t smack him though, I kept my hands to himself.”

This leads Reid to quip: “I think we need to hear the other side of the story.”

To which Madeley responds: “I’d love to do that. Bring him over! Keep my hands behind my back.”

Since Rock’s Netflix special has dropped, it’s been facing criticism online, with some branding his Will Smith jokes ‘disgusting’.

One person has tweeted: “Watching Chris Rock live on Netflix is disgusting and disturbing.

“I had no idea what I was in for. Wow.”

“What’s happening to comedy!!!!” another added. “It’s becoming increasingly apparent that it’s no longer funny. Disgusting show by Chris Rock.”

However, others have praised the sketch, dubbing Rock ‘hilarious’.

“Chris Rock’s Netflix Special is genius, heartfelt and hilarious. #SelectiveOutrage,” someone writes.

In agreement, a second person comments: “Chris Rock gave Will Smith a hilarious response that was just what the situation called for – he slapped him back with some comedy!”
