Ricky Gervais, who has shocked fans by saying he’s ‘going to die soon,’ is being slammed over ‘transphobic’ jokes he made in his new comedy special, SuperNature

The comedian is being blasted by Netflix viewers over several comments he made about trans women in his sketch, which dropped on the streaming platform on May 24.

At one point in the show, the 60-year-old says: “The new ones we’ve been seeing lately. The ones with beards and c***s. They’re as good as gold, I love them.”

He then goes on to mention trans actress Eddie Izzard and misgenders them in the process.

Later on in the sketch, he references fellow comedian Kevin Hart, who stepped down as the 2019 Oscars host when his homophobic tweets resurfaced.

Discussing this, Gervais remarks: “Like, the worst thing you can say today – to get you cancelled on Twitter – the worst thing you can say today is, ‘Women don’t have penises,’ right?”

Adding that it’s not always easy to ‘predict what will be offensive,’ the After Life creator continues: “Now, no one saw that coming. You won’t find a ten-year-old tweet of someone saying, ‘Women don’t have penises.’ You know why? We didn’t think we f***ing had to!”

Towards the end of the show, Gervais goes on to clarify that he does support the trans community, regardless of how offensive his jokes can be.

“Full disclosure, in real-life, of course, I support trans rights. I support all human rights, and trans rights are human rights. Live your best life. Use your preferred pronoun,” he tells the audience. “Be the gender that you feel that you are but meet me halfway. Ladies, lose the c***s. That’s all I’m saying.”
