Road Trips fans have been left ‘devastated’ after Gino D’Acampo has confirmed that the hit ITV show has been ‘cancelled’.
The celebrity chef has taken to Twitter and said the hilarious trio of himself, Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix, won’t be travelling around the world and sampling local cuisine anytime soon.
Announcing the disappointing news, he tweeted: “Breaking News. Unfortunately, we will no longer be filming Gordon Gino and Fred, mainly because @GordonRamsay is too busy working on his hair highlights in [the] USA.
“But don’t worry guys, @fredsirieix1 and I have a plan #JustinGinoandFred. Coming soon… GDx.”
The 45-year-old shared a picture of him and Sirieix sleeping on a sofa alongside the statement.
Fans were quick to air their disappointment that the series has been ‘cancelled,’ with many commenting under the post.
“What? Nooooo!” said one. “This was such a great combination. Please Gordon, you can get some great highlights done in the UK”
Another added: “Won’t be the same without Gordon. The competitive banter and practical jokes between all three, especially the friendly friction between Gordon and yourself is what made the fun.”
“Ahhh very sad! Gordon, sort your life out mate! Haha, but on a serious note everybody has a path and Gordon is following the path that he thinks is right for him at the moment. He will be missed because he is like a parent to you two!” a third fumed.
The ITV show first aired in 2018, and started with the foodies travelling across western Europe, with the most recent series, Gordon, Gino & Fred Go Greek, hitting TV screens back in September.
Throughout the series, the three have also travelled to the US and Mexico, and have produced three Christmas specials.
