Robbie Knievel, the son of legendary daredevil Evel Knievel, has died.

Tragically, the daredevil has sadly passed away.

He started riding bicycles at the age of four, before moving onto motorcycle riding at age seven.

He performed his first stunt show at 12 years old with his dad at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Robbie was famous for wearing red, white and blue V-shaped jumpsuits – similar to his father’s iconic white leather suits.

Robbie was the son of Knievel and his first wife Linda.

The couple had four children: two boys, Kelly and Robbie, and two girls, Tracey and Alicia.

Kelly and Robbie both performed at Knievel’s stunt shows throughout their teenage years.

Robbie was the only one of his children to continue into adulthood and perform as a professional motorcycle daredevil.

The news of Robbie’s death was announced by his brother Kelly.

He told CNN: “He was in hospice for about four days. He had advanced pancreatic cancer.

“He knew he was sick for probably six months.”

Robbie’s three daughters were by his side when he passed away on January 13.

Speaking to the Associated Press, Kelly said that his brother was a ‘great daredevil’.

He said: “Daredevils don’t live easy lives.

“People don’t really understand how scary it is what my brother did.”

The official Instagram page of Evel Knievel also shared the news of Robbie’s passing.

Fans of the daredevil paid tribute to him in the comments.

“Rest and ride in peace Robbie,” said one person.

Another fan added: “Robbie had the longest career of any daredevil that I know of.

“RIP legend thank you for your contribution to the sport of motorcycle jumping and carrying on the Knievel legacy.”

A third commented: “Condolences to the Knievel family! Ride in peace Evel Robbie Knievel!”

“My condolences. I grew up hearing his name and about his challenges,” someone else said.

A fifth shared: “Rest in power Robbie. Strong love to the entire Knievel family.”

Robbie wrote about his relationship with his father and admitted that they clashed a lot due to him wanting to copy his dad.

He explained: “Of the four of us kids, he disciplined me the most, since I was the rebel.

“I was the one constantly challenging him and emulating him.”

Robbie told Larry King that he was proud of following in his father’s footsteps.

He said: “I’m very proud of the fact that my dad pretty much created his own entertainment, sport, whatever you want to call it.”
