According to reports, Cattermole was found dead at his home in Dorset.

The band’s management has said: “We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul.

“There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel.

“We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.

“He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time.”

The cause of Cattermole’s death is still unknown but Dorset Police has confirmed that there was no foul play involved or any suspicious circumstances.

The shocking news comes just weeks after the band announced that they were reuniting for a 25th-anniversary reunion tour.

The band were one of the biggest groups of the late 90s and early 2000s.

With two Brit Awards, four number-one singles and a hit TV series, you could not avoid S Club 7 around this time – before the band split up in 2003.

Tributes for the star have been posted across social media, with fans of Cattermole and the band expressing their condolences.

One fan comments: “Oh gosh. Heartbreaking news about Paul Cattermole. Thoughts go out to his friends, family and the rest of S Club 7 at such a sad time. 46 is no age at all.”

Someone else adds: “I’m actually devastated by Paul dying. S Club 7 were the first band I ever saw in concert and I was obsessed with them. I’m just gonna sit here crying to this. RIP Paul.”

A third writes: “This is unbelievably sad. S Club 7 loomed large over millennials’ childhoods, and Paul was clearly a really sweet guy. RIP.”

They say: “Hannah is inconsolable. This came as a massive shock, and she is struggling to believe he is no longer with us.

“Just as they rekindled their friendship, the worst happened. The band are all in pieces.

“They were all looking forward to the reunion tour and reliving their amazing memories together.

“Paul has and always will be a huge part of Hannah’s journey. Right now, she is just beside herself.”
