A man lived with his twin inside him for 36 years without knowing.
Sanju Bhagat, born in Nagpur, India, in 1963, appeared to be a regular child with no apparent medical abnormalities.
However, as he grew older and faced the challenges of making ends meet by working on a farm to support his family, his stomach began to expand to an alarming size.
This even prompted people to mistake him for being pregnant – but the truth was much more shocking than that.

Despite the lack of proper nutrition, Bhagat’s belly continued to protrude, earning him the nickname of the ‘pregnant man’ in his small community.
Unfazed by the constant ridicule, he persevered, focusing on providing for his family and ignoring their pleas to seek medical attention.
Eventually, Bhagat’s bulging stomach reached a point where it pressed against his diaphragm, causing breathing difficulties.
In 1999, he was rushed to a hospital in Mumbai, where Dr Ajay Mehta initially suspected the presence of a tumour.

However, what they discovered inside Bhagat’s stomach was far more astonishing.
Upon incision, fluid spilt out, followed by the emergence of an actual human being.
History Defined reports a doctor saying: “He just put his hand inside and he said there are a lot of bones inside.
“First, one limb came out, then another limb came out. Then some part of genitalia, then some part of hair, some limbs, jaws, limbs, hair.
“We were horrified. We were confused and amazed… To my surprise and horror, I could shake hands with somebody inside. It was a bit shocking for me.”
Initially believed to be a case of ‘vanishing twin syndrome’, where one twin is absorbed by the other during pregnancy, it was later determined that Bhagat had a rare condition known as ‘fetus in fetu’.
In this extremely unusual occurrence, one twin develops inside the body of the other twin, functioning like a parasite.
Typically, the host twin would become aware of such an anomaly, but Bhagat had ignored the signs.
Following the removal of the twin, Bhagat, who had refused to look at the lump of flesh and hair that had inhabited his body for decades, attempted to return to a normal life.
Liberated from the presence of his twin, he resumed his daily work routine.

However, his neighbours still remembered him as the ‘pregnant man’.
The astounding case captivated many, with people expressing disbelief and fascination on social media.
Some found it hard to believe, questioning the authenticity of the story, while others marvelled at the decades-long occurrence.
On Twitter, one person wrote: “This cannot be real!”
Another person said: “So bizarre that it went on for decades.”
