Sarah Paulson says she gets the most ‘horrifying’ comments about her 81-year-old girlfriend. 

Paulson, 49, is one of the most accomplished actresses of recent times and throughout her career has won numerous accolades, including a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Tony Award.

She’s best known for starring in the Ryan Murphy-created series American Horror Story but has also starred in Game Change, Impeachment: American Crime Story, and Nurse Ratched.

Away from her career, Paulson has opened up about her relationship and how people have responded.

Many have offered words of support for the pairing, with one fan saying: “Holland is hilarious, and I think spending your life with someone funny is a great way to live! Good on you ladies.”

A second adds: “Good luck to them. They look happy! Maybe just leave them alone.”

“If that’s what it takes to make it work and have a long healthy relationship who are we to judge,” someone else comments.

Paulson began dating Two and a Half Men star Holland Taylor, 81, in 2015.

Taylor ‘slid into her DMs’ after they had followed each other on X, formerly Twitter, reports People magazine.

The two actually met 10 years prior, however, they had both been seeing other people at the time.

They made their relationship public when Taylor uploaded a photo of Paulson onto X, alongside the caption: “When captions fail…”

To the delight of fans, Paulson and Taylor have continued to be open about their relationship in both interviews and social media.

In an interview with The New York Times, Paulson described Taylor as ‘the most exquisitely beautiful woman’ she had ever seen.

She’s also opened up about the secret to their relationship’s success, claiming that it’s all in their ability to let each other be.

The Bird Box star told Page Six: “We each follow our own path so we’re not exactly the same. We do some things separately so everyone gets to be true to what they believe.

“She’s much more social, and I like a little bit of alone time, so I have that. She spends some time with friends and not with me, so it’s a good balance.”

In interviews, Paulson has also addressed their age gap and how it’s resulted in trolling on social media.

The 49-year-old told The Guardian that she received ‘horrifying’ and ‘cruel’ messages about their relationship and that she tries her best to stop it from bothering her.

“If it allows for more freedom, in terms of the way people think about what’s possible for them, then I’m all for the fandom of it and the excitement around it and the interest in it,” she said to the publication.

“What I don’t love, which is sort of a consequence of it being such public knowledge, is that there is a discussion about it at all.

“Believe me, there have been plenty of young people on the internet who have tweeted horrifying things to me about it, and who don’t support it, and who are so cruel. So it’s just a bit of a dance. But one I try to not let into my brain too often.”
