Selena Gomez has hit back at social media trolls for body-shaming her.
Gomez, 30, attended the 2023 Golden Globes after being nominated for Best Television Actress in a Musical/Comedy series for her role in Only Murders In The Building.
Although the Wizards of Waverly Place star missed out on the award to Quinta Branson (Abbott Elementary), many of her fans took to social media to compliment her red-carpet look.
Gomez attended the ceremony wearing a strapless Valentino gown with loose-fitting purple sleeves and a thigh-high split.
While many commented on how beautiful the Disney star looked, others targeted her appearance with a series of cruel comments.

As images of Gomez at the event started circulating online, some started picking on her appearance.
And, not for the first time, trolls hounded her about her size – forcing the star into a brilliant response.
One troll tweeted: “Oh, she’s huge.”

“Selena is so horrible looking now, what happened?” another added.
A third wrote: “Selena looks botched.”
Another said: “My goodness, she’s gotten fat!”

“Just look at the pics from the Golden Globes. Everyone commenting on how fat you are,” trolled a fifth.
“Workout, hire a personal trainer and a nutritionist… and you looked bigger with that horrendous dress.”
Proudly hitting back at her haters, Gomez took to Instagram Live with her nine-year-old sister, Gracie, and laughed off the appalling comments.
The ‘Wolves’ singer told her followers: “I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays.”
She then looked at her sister and said: “Right?”
And when Gracie agreed with her older sister, Gomez added: “But we don’t care,” as the pair burst into laughter.
Thankfully, the majority of people posted positive things about Gomez’s red-carpet look.

“She should pay no attention to haters. She’s beautiful inside and out,” one person said.
A second wrote: “You’re so beautiful queen, you deserve this, you deserve the world. I am so proud of you, I love you unconditionally.”
“Don’t listen to those body-shaming trolls and critics out there!” someone else said.
“You are one of the most beautiful young women on the planet and you looked absolutely radiant at the Golden Globes. All the best to you Ms Gomez!”
In agreement, another wrote: “I am so obsessed with this woman, please, she is beautiful.”
