Shoppers In Debate Over Return Of Poundland’s £1 Engagement Rings

Poundland shoppers have found themselves in a furious debate over the return of the bargain store’s £1 engagement rings, that have made a comeback for Valentine’s Day.

Over the past few days, Poundland shoppers have spotted the return of the store’s £1 engagement ring, with one person sharing the snap to the Facebook group Money Saver Online.

However, shoppers have been left furiously divided over the plastic rings, with some saying it would “turn your finger green” and others arguing “it’s the thought that counts”.

One person, who favoured the affordable jewellery, commented: “Seriously…if I loved him and he loved me..then I’d wear it with pride. True love isn’t defined by how much a ring is worth.

Another said: “Personally I wouldn’t care, it’s the thought that counts! Yes it may turn your finger green but love doesn’t come in material things!

While one person pointed out: “I think these are a fab idea if you know your partner would like to choose the ring, OR if you aren’t sure on her ring size, that can all be done when you’re choosing the real ring together OR if you plan to do it abroad etc and don’t want to risk losing the expensive one along the journey.”

Yet others weren’t so easily convinced and one wrote: “Sorry can only have gold come out in a rash if it’s cheap.”

A second agreed, adding: “Probably the type of ring that turns your finger green.”

Poundland’s £1 ‘bling rings’ and ‘man bands’ were a massive hit last year around Valentine’s Day, with the retailer confirming that a whopping 40,000 had been sold ahead of February 14, 2020.

With the hope of encouraging women to also pop the question, the store also brought out ‘man bands’, “because he might never get around to doing it”.

Available in a selection of styles and finger sizes, the Poundland engagement ring is set to be just as popular this year too.
