Did The Simpsons predict Dogecoin?

Fans of The Simpsons fans have taken to social media to point out that the animated sitcom predicted Dogecoin in an episode that aired last year. 

One person said: “No matter what y’all say #dogecoin was in The Simpsons, so #dogetothemoon.” 

Another posted: “Whoa wait, there was a Dogecoin reference on The Simpsons?!”

One third added: “The Simpsons does it again. They accurately predicted the mass adoptions of cryptocurrency and had dogecoin as one of the cryptos on the list.”

Which episode did The Simpsons predict Dogecoin?

The Simpsons made a reference to cryptocurrencies in episode 13 of season 31. Titled ‘Frinkcoin,’ the episode is about Professor Frink who wants to prove cryptocurrency has ‘real value’.

Mr Burns then hires mathematicians to work out how to ruin the professor’s work. 

This episode is what sparked the rumour that The Simpsons predicted dogecoin’s success and may even know something we don’t.

What Is Dogecoin? 

Dogecoin is a digital currency also known as a cryptocurrency.

The currency was created in 2013 as ‘a joke’ by two software engineers, Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer.

Today, it can be used online for trading, purchasing goods, and for general e-transactions.

The dogecoin symbol is an image of the Shiba Inu dog which became a meme years ago. As the official symbol of the currency, the name ‘dogecoin’ was based on the dog or ‘doge’. 

Will dogecoin reach $1?

Many dogecoin investors are eagerly awaiting for the cryptocurrency to reach a value of $1. Predictions on its growth estimate it will pass $1 by the end of 2021.

Yes. In an episode titled ‘The Musk Who Fell to Earth,’ Elon Musk becomes a friend of Homer after landing in the family’s backyard.
