Stephen King, the prolific author known as the ‘King of Horror,’ has a long-standing reputation for knowing what makes people jump out of their seats in terror.

Over his illustrious career, he has penned numerous chilling novels such as The Shining, It, and Pet Sematary, many of which have been adapted into successful films and television series.

So when King speaks, horror fans listen.

Recently, he turned his attention to a Netflix movie, calling it a must-watch for fans of the genre.

This recommendation has sparked excitement among viewers, who have since claimed that it’s the ‘scariest’ thing they’ve ever seen.

Fans have taken to social media to share their reactions to the film, echoing King’s sentiments and praising its ability to terrify.

Many have called it the ‘scariest’ movie they’ve seen in recent years, highlighting its tense atmosphere, unsettling imagery, and thought-provoking narrative.

The film in question stars Downtown Abbey star Hugh Bonneville and 1917’s George Mackay.

Ruth Rendell and Patricia Highsmith are both authors who had a reputation for writing psychological thrillers.

The thriller follows a young graffiti artist who discovers a shocking secret that would put him and his loved ones in danger.

King’s comment touched the movie’s director Babak Anvari, who said in response: “This means the world to me! Your book ‘On Writing’ was one of the first books that taught me about storytelling.”

Since the movie was released, it’s received positive reviews, with fans calling the movie a ‘pulse-pounding thriller’ and ‘a twisty suspense film barbed with social commentary.’

Fans on social media have also been praising the film, with one viewer posting: “The scene where Hector Blake closes the ‘panic room’ door to say those things to the last cop was one of the scariest I’ve seen in a while.”

Another hailed it ‘the best thing I’ve watched in ages.’
