At the beginning of the clip, the student started off by saying: “I thought it would be funny to do a reading of the rules my crazy, controlling ex-boyfriend sent me before leaving for college.”

One of the first rules was ‘absolutely no drinking’.

Another was that she can’t wear ‘crop tops or tight clothing,’ had to have all her outfits ‘approved’ by her boyfriend or his mum, and be in her student dorm ‘by 9pm every night’.

To prove she was where she claimed to be, he also reportedly said she had to Facetime him.

The woman said she decided to share the list as she wanted to highlight ‘controlling’ behaviour.

“I’m by no means glamourising controlling relationships,” she stated. “I just thought it was funny he thought he had this much control.”

The clip has now been viewed a whopping 3.4million times and many have said the relationship sounded ‘toxic’.

One viewer commented: “I’m so sorry you had to go through something that horrible. I’m proud of you for learning and getting out of it, that’s a really hard thing to do.”

Another added: “The fact that he wrote this and thought it was okay to send to another person…”

“He needs to be on a watch list and I’m not trying to be funny,” a third said.
