Taylor Rousseau Grigg has sadly passed away aged just 25 years old, and now, her cause of death has been confirmed.
The beloved internet personality, who had garnered over 1.5 million followers, was admired for her uplifting presence online.
Her husband, Cameron Grigg, confirmed the heartbreaking news of her passing through a heartfelt Instagram post earlier this month.
And now, Taylor’s cause of death has been revealed.
Since the announcement, tributes have flooded social media, with one user commenting, “Bless her heart and her family. Too young.”
Another simply wrote, “Rest in heaven, beautiful,” while a third shared, “My sincere condolences to her family. May she rest in peace.”
In an emotional post, Cameron expressed his sorrow and disbelief, saying, “No one ever expects to have to deal with this kind of pain and heartache, especially at our age.”
He continued, reflecting on Taylor’s strength: “This past year Taylor has dealt with more pain and suffering than most people do in a lifetime. And in spite of that, she still has been such a light and always brought joy to everyone around her.”
Cameron praised her courage and faith, saying, “She is the most brave and strong woman I know, and her confidence in the Lord outweighed every other circumstance she’s faced, even in her darkest hours. I know she’s saved my life and so many others out there.”
At the time of Cameron’s post, Taylor was on life support to preserve her organs for donation, something Cameron noted she would have wanted.
A representative later confirmed that Taylor had donated her organs to pediatric patients, per Today.
He added, “More than anything, Taylor would want to know that she’s continuing to save people’s lives even after she’s gone from this world.”
Cameron also found comfort in the thought that Taylor was no longer suffering, stating, “She’s no longer in pain, but her body has been made whole in Jesus’ name. We can praise God that she will endure no more suffering and she is truly set free from these earthly chains! SHE’S BEEN MADE WHOLE AND PERFECT!”
Due to the unexpected nature of her passing, Cameron revealed that her family was not financially prepared, prompting a friend to set up a GoFundMe to help.
“And even if you can’t contribute financially, prayers for our family are always needed,” Cameron shared, encouraging support.
The GoFundMe page honors Taylor’s memory, with the bio stating: “It is with our deepest condolences that we acknowledge the passing of Taylor, who has now spread her wings. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.”
The page also notes that a benefit event in Taylor’s honor is being planned, with more details to come.
And now, the cause of death has been confirmed for Taylor Rousseau Grigg.
Taylor had addressed her health struggles in an August 8 TikTok video, although she did not disclose specific diagnoses at the time.
Speaking to her followers, she shared that she had once been ‘very athletic,’ but her health had declined, leaving her ‘not healthy and in good shape’ for some time.
In the video, Taylor revealed that she had ‘got sick’ shortly after marrying her husband in August 2023, and mentioned receiving a ‘forever diagnosis’ but did not go into detail.
Reflecting on her struggles, she said: “You’re seeing me be sick for the whole time that we’re married and not finding out what was wrong until this year… I barely found out what was wrong with me. I was struggling that whole time feeling like I was going to die.”
Expressing frustration with her health, she added: “It just sucks because I’m 24 years old, I should be in my prime, I should be able to carry my suitcase up the stairs, I should be able to walk to the mailbox, or run, and those are just things that I can’t really do right now.”
Taylor died on October 4 as a result of complications stemming from asthma and Addison’s disease, according to a family representative in a statement given to TODAY.com.
Addison’s disease, also known as adrenal insufficiency, is a rare chronic condition that occurs when the body fails to produce adequate amounts of certain hormones, according to the Mayo Clinic.
The clinic confirms: “Sometimes the symptoms of Addison’s disease appear suddenly. Acute adrenal failure can lead to life-threatening shock.”
Addison’s disease occurs when the adrenal glands produce insufficient amounts of cortisol, and often too little aldosterone as well.
During acute adrenal failure, symptoms can include severe weakness, confusion, lower back or leg pain, and a reduced level of consciousness.
This condition is caused by damage to the adrenal glands and can lead to significant health complications.
Common symptoms of Addison’s disease include extreme fatigue, weight loss, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and muscle or joint pain, among others.
Meanwhile, asthma, which causes the airways to narrow and swell, can make breathing difficult and lead to symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. In severe cases, it may result in a life-threatening asthma attack.
