A teacher has defended wearing ‘figure-hugging’ outfits amid a social media uproar.

The woman, who is known as ‘The Art Teacher’, has over 950,000 followers on Instagram and many people have taken to her photos and criticised her for wearing ‘inappropriate’ clothing to work.

On one post, a person wrote: “Shouldn’t be a teacher if you’re acting like a model. We can see that your body comes first then education.”

Another added: “You always make sure to get a picture of your backside. Why? You teaching children. Who cares that your butt is big? I can’t tell it’s all about the kids.”

She said: “One thing I want to address is the mothers at my school, at my specific school where I am an actual teacher at, some of those mothers are some of my biggest supporters.

“I have seen some of these mums have been under these reports defending my honour without me having to say a peep.”

She added: “It is scary and mind-boggling to me that this is really a thing.”

‘The Art Teacher’ went on to say that she is ‘still living her truth’ and ‘remains ‘highly favoured’.

Her response has received a ton of praise on social media, with one fan penning: “She could have been negative and carelessly talking to defend herself but she didn’t!

“Kudos to you for staying positive and appreciate to your supporters! And THANK YOU for your service and dedication to the children.”

“It’s insane that it’s 2022 and this is still happening to curvy women who happen to be teachers. Y’all truly deserve better, all around, including pay,” a second said.
