The Crown Series Three Will Return To Our Screens This November

Ahead of the return of The Crown, Netflix has released the first look at Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth.

Fans of the Netflix original The Crown will no doubt be extremely excited to hear that the show will return to our screens on Sunday 17 November.

The news broke today via a clever and ‘almost royal’ announcement as Netflix wished the public “the most splendid of viewing experiences”.

So far, little is known about what this season has in store for us, but we do know that the show will explore the mid-1960s-1970s and the break-up of Princess Margaret’s marriage, with Helena Bonham Carter taking over Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret.

Viewers of the huge Netflix show will also be delighted to know that today’s rather formal announcement wasn’t the only bit of royal news, as Netflix has released the first look at Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, who took over from Claire Foy at the end of last year.

Olivia Colman heads up a whole new cast taking over to play the various members of the Royal Family with Tobias Menzies as Prince Phillip, Ben Daniels as Tony Armstrong-Jones, Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles, Erin Doherty as Princess Anne, Marion Bailey as the Queen’s mother. We will also see Jason Watkins as ex-Prime Minister Harold Wilson.

Since hitting our screens in 2016, The Crown has gone on to become one of Netflix’s most successful original shows, with audiences in the UK and the US seemingly gripped by the dramatised, inside look at the Royal Family with the show and the cast winning numerous awards and turning Claire Foy, Vanessa Kirby, and Matt Smith into certified Hollywood stars.

The Netflix Original The Crown will return to our screens on Sunday 17 November.
